About Clare
A bodyworker & a coach
For three decades Clare has worked at the meeting place of health and the human body. She spent twenty years as a registered dietitian, health educator, and wellness consultant — she grew up in a family that prized healthy eating and movement, so teaching others to care for their bodies felt like home.
Then grief reshaped her path. When her oldest sister was killed in a car accident during college, Clare found — even while eating well and exercising — that she still felt unwell. Her sense of health expanded to include mind, body, and spirit. A health-coach training taught her to slow down and practice mindfulness; the seven principles of her first book were born there.
After her divorce she left behind a pattern of minimizing her talents and doubting her decisions, and learned to listen to her intuition — in her words, her greatest gift. It led to her biggest adventures: writing, building a business of her own, travelling to Africa, Spain, and New Zealand, and speaking her truth.
She trained as a licensed massage therapist and a teacher of non-sexual tantra, a long apprenticeship in how the body holds stress and joy. Her own intimate awakening came at forty-seven, through a partner present enough to slow down. Today she teaches what she had to learn the slow way — skill-based, not shame-based; grounded in the body, not theory.
“I didn’t plan any of this. I followed grief, then curiosity, then my own body — and it led me home. If that’s where you’re trying to get to, I know the way.” — Clare
