A presence-based approach to intimacy

Intimacy was never a performance. It’s a practice.

For thirty years Clare Sente has studied how people heal, slow down, and come back to their bodies. Sex Worth Having is what she learned — that desire, connection, and pleasure are skills of presence, and they can be relearned at any age.

The truth, named gently

You’re not broken. You were never taught.

Somewhere along the way, intimacy stopped feeling easy. Maybe desire changed — yours, or your partner’s. Maybe the body you’re in now asks for something different than it used to. Maybe you’ve been performing so long you’ve forgotten what presence even feels like.

None of it means something is wrong with you. Most of us were handed myths about sex and almost no real skill. The good news: skill is learnable — and it starts not with technique, but with attention.

A note from Clare

None of this is about performance. For thirty years I’ve been learning — through my own body, my own grief, my own awakening — that desire and connection aren’t things you chase. They’re things you come home to.

Wherever you are, whoever you are, however long it’s been: you’re not broken, and you’re not too late. I’d be honored to walk a little of the way with you.

The framework

Four practices that change everything.

  1. 01

    Presence

Arriving fully in your body, and in the moment, before anything else.

  2. 02

    Attunement

Learning to read and meet a body and a desire that keep changing.

  3. 03

    Communication

Saying the true thing — without pressure, defensiveness, or apology.

  4. 04

    Touch

Touch that relaxes before it arouses, and rebuilds safety along the way.

Clare Sente, bodyworker, intimacy coach, and host of Sex Worth Having

A bodyworker & a coach

One devotion: coming home to the body.

For three decades Clare has worked at the meeting place of health and the human body — first as a registered dietitian, health educator, and speaker, then as a licensed massage therapist, mindfulness teacher, and practitioner of non-sexual tantra. A long apprenticeship in how the body holds stress, grief, and joy.

Grief reshaped her path. After losing her sister, she found that eating well and exercising weren’t enough, and her sense of health expanded to include mind, body, and spirit. Learning to trust her own intuition became, in her words, her greatest gift.

Her own intimate awakening came at forty-seven, through a partner present enough to slow down. Today she teaches what she had to learn the slow way — skill-based, not shame-based; grounded in the body, not theory.
